Montgomery County’s Office of Human Rights and the Committee on Hate/Violence are co-hosting a free community forum and discussion called “Bullying in Schools: A Community Symposium on Prevention and Intervention Strategies,” on Saturday, February 4 from 2 to 4 p.m.  The symposium will take place at the Silver Spring Civic Building at Veterans Plaza, One Veterans Place.

County Residents Complete Construction Training through TeamBuilders Academy

The following information was sent to us by Joe Clark from The Prince George's County Community College:

A cohort of 24 students have completed three months of hands-on-training in the construction trade through Prince George’s Community College’s TeamBuilders Academy. The group, including 12 women, is prepared to enter career fields such as building maintenance engineering, residential weatherization and property preservation. The accelerated adult career training program matches eligible unemployed Prince George’s County residents with local employers by providing job readiness and occupational trades-related technical skills training.
