Local Singing Chef Featured At Friends of the Library’s Annual Fundraiser

On Saturday, October 29th, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., Rockville native Chef Johnny Mo will emcee the fourth annual Read, Eat & Give fundraiser, which is designed to encourage the exploration of various types of food and drink through reading.

This fundraiser will be held at the Rockville Memorial Library and will include a musical presentation and cooking demonstration by the award-winning chef. It will feature dishes from his restaurant on Virginia's Eastern Shore: “Mallard’s.” 

Friends of the Library, Montgomery County (FOLMC), is a 29-year-old non-profit membership organization that operates with 16 chapters dedicated to enhancing and promoting life-long learning and public libraries through fundraising and advocacy efforts.

Celebrates 51st Anniversary in Sept.

 The Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church festival celebrates their 51st annual festival, Friday through Sunday, Sept. 16, 17 and 18, 2011, from 12 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday (rain or shine). The largest and oldest DC Greek Festival is located at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church at the corner of 16th and Upshur streets in Washington, D.C. Admission is FREE.
