$2 million lottery ticket sold in Md.

LAUREL, Md. (WUSA9) -- A $2 million lottery ticket was sold in Laurel, Md. for Saturday night's drawing, lottery officials said.

The ticket bought was the PowerPlay option and the PowerPlay number was two. $1 million was doubled to $2 million, according to lottery officials.

The winning ticket was bought at Laurel Lakes Liquors, located at 14132 Baltimore Ave., in Laurel.

Md. robbery suspect wanted after leaving during trial

LAUREL, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police say a manhunt is underway for a suspect wanted in connection with a liquor store robbery after he disappeared from court on Tuesday.

The Prince George's County Sheriff's Office has issued a warrant for the arrest of 40-year-old Michael Anderson.

Police say Anderson left the courthouse while a jury was deliberating during his trial.

Anderson was on trial for a June 15 robbery the Laurel Park Liquor Store at 13600 Baltimore Avenue. The jury convicted him on the robbery charge Tuesday, even though he did not return to the courtroom to hear the verdict, officials say.

4 injured in accident on I-495 near Bethesda

4 injured in accident on I-495 near Bethesda

BETHESDA, Md. (WUSA 9) -- Two Metrobus passengers are claiming injuries after the bus was involved in an accident on the Beltway Friday afternoon.

Authorities say that the Metrobus was involved in an accident with a passenger vehicle near the Old Georgetown Road exit on I-495.

Authorities report that two of the passengers in the involved vehicle are also claiming injuries.

Fire crews respond to Md. house fire

LAUREL, Md. (WUSA9) -- Authorities say, Howard County fire crews responded to a house fire in Laurel, Thursday night.

The fire happened at 10700 Graeloch Road, in Laurel, Md. around 9 p.m. , according to authorities.

A total of 40 firefighters were able to put out the fire within 20 minutes, authorities said.

No injuries have been reported as of yet. Authorities said, the home will more than likely be declared uninhabitable later Thursday night.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.

2 suspects wanted in Md. store robbery

LAUREL, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County Police Department is searching for two suspects in connection with a store robbery that happened in Laurel, Md. Friday afternoon.

Police said the incident happened around 12:30 p.m. in the 14200 block of Baltimore Avenue. Authorities said, the two suspects went into the store, pulled out guns and demanded money.

According to authorities, several cell phones were taken.

Temporary Lane Changes On MD Route 1

LAUREL, Md (WUSA9) -- A traffic alert for anyone driving northbound on Maryland US 1 in Laurel.

The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) says on the evening of Monday, July 7 they will be temporarily shifting traffic flow on US 1/Baltimore Avenue between Contee Road and the Muirkirk Road Bridge. SHA will be temporarily splitting the northbound lanes with concrete barriers. These changes should start at 6pm when road crews close one lane in each direction.

SHA says this work is associated with the Intercounty Connector (ICC) Project.
