Police identify man killed after head-on crash in Laurel

LAUREL, Md. (WUSA9) -- A 66-year-old man killed  after a head-on crash Thursday afternoon has been identified, according to Prince George's County police. 

The crash happened around 1 p.m. at the intersection of Laurel-Bowie Road (Route 197) and Loblolly Pine Drive in Laurel. 

Charles Fletcher was heading northbound on Laurel Bowie Road when police said another car heading southbound crossed the center lines and struck Fletcher’s car head on. 

A child and another person were also injured in the crash. They were taken to a nearby hospital after the accident with non-life threatening injuries. 

Fletcher was killed at the scene. 

Police are still investigating how the second car crossed the center lines of traffic.
