Prince George's County Bus Drivers Strike
Transportation

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) - Bus drivers in Prince George's County are on strike and say they won't return to work until their demands are met.

Service on TheBus was limited Monday and Tuesday. Veolia Transportation, which operates the service, says it brought in workers from other areas to drive some routes.

About 14,000 people ride TheBus daily.

Union members say they want better job security, health insurance and higher wages. They're also seeking changes to a disciplinary policy.

A spokeswoman for Veolia says the dispute is primarily about cameras installed on the buses to monitor driver behavior.

The county has suspended fares on all routes until the strike ends.
