Police Investigate Fatal Accident In Laurel | News
LAUREL, Md. (WUSA) -- Police in Prince George's County are investigating an overnight accident in Laurel that has left one person dead and two hospitalized.
Corporal Larry Johnson, spokesman for the Prince George's County Police Department, says the accident happened around 1:47 Thursday morning when a vehicle ran off Laurel Bowie Road and went into the woods at Muirkirk Road.
Johnson says three people were transported to a local hospital where one victim was pronounced dead. The other two victims are in serious condition.
Johnson says an accident reconstruction team is on the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
Right now the southbound lanes of Laurel Bowie Road are shut down at Muirkirk Road. Johnson says the lanes should reopen within the next hour.
