FOUND: 13-year-old boy from Laurel


LAUREL, Md. (WUSA9) -- The missing 13-year-old boy from Laurel has been found safe and sound, police said.

Police said Axel Morales was last seen in the 13900 block of Briarwood Drive in Laurel on Sunday around 12:30 am.

He is described as a 5'6" Hispanic male, 110 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes. Police say Morales was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and purple shoes.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Prince George's County Police Department's Regional Investigation Division – Northern Region at (301) 937-0910.

FOUND: 17-year-old girl from Laurel


LAUREL, Md. (WUSA9) -- The missing 17-year-old girl from Laurel has been found safe and sound, police said.

Police said Sara Whitney Onwudiachi was last seen in the 12800 block of North Point Lane on Saturday around 7:00 p.m.

She is described as a 5'11" African-American female, 150 pounds, with short hair and brown eyes. Police say Onwudiachi was last seen wearing a black jacket, pink shirt and gray pants.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Prince George's County Police Department's Regional Investigation Division – Northern Region at (301) 937-0910.

Missing 17-year-old girl from Laurel sought


LAUREL, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County Police are searching for a missing 17-year-old girl from Laurel.

Police said Amia Butler-Morgan was last seen in Laurel on Wednesday around 4 p.m.

She is described as a black teenager, standing 5'8" tall and weighing 200 pounds. She has straight, black, shoulder-length hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white shirt, with tan pants and black shoes, police said.

Truck hit by gunfire on the ICC


LAUREL, Md. (WUSA9) -- A truck traveling Eastbound on the ICC was struck by gunfire on Tuesday, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.

The bullets hit the windshield of the truck. One of the occupants of the truck was injured by broken glass, transportation officials said. The other occupant of the truck was hit by a bullet, but the bullet was stopped by his clothing.

Students interested in attending the Metropolitan School of the Arts (MSA) of Alexandria and Lorton, Va. can audition on Sun., Mar. 1 at MSA Lorton Campus at 9601 Ox Road. Auditions are required as part of the 2015-2016 academy registration. The MSA Academy audition is for performing arts students from 6th grade to 12th grade. The audition process will give prospective students an opportunity to demonstrate his or her skills in dance, music and theater for the chairs of the respective arts departments.  Applicants must attend a live audition if they live within three geographical states of MSA.  Prospective students living beyond the three-state radius may submit a DVD audition. 

Police to canvass Laurel in homicide investigation


LAUREL, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County Police will canvass a Laurel community Friday evening and pass out flyers in connection with a homicide that happened Thursday. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered in connection with the incident.

The victim, Tyrone Archer, Jr. 23, of Laurel was found suffering from gunshot wounds Thursday around 3:45 p.m. in the 8200 block of Imperial Drive, police said. Archer was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police are still trying to identify suspects and a possible motive in the case.

The canvass of the area will start at 6 p.m. in the 8200 block of Imperial Drive, police said.
