Excavator Kills Worker in Laurel, Md. Construction Accident

A man was fatally hit in the head by an excavator at a residential construction site.

The Gazette reports the accident took place at the intersection of Palace Hall Drive and Skylark Boulevard.

Morgan Tyler Gainer was working at the site when he was struck by the excavator. Gainer’s colleagues immediately dialed 911 for help, but by the time help arrived to the site, it was too late.  Gainer was pronounced dead.

Audition at the Laurel Mill Playhouse

Auditions will be held at the Laurel Mill Playhouse August 26 at 7pm and August 28 at 10am for Alan Ayckbourn’s Bedroom Farce.

There are openings for 4 men and 4 women. Director Howard Berkowitz will have sides available for cold readings from the script.

Produced by special arrangement with Samuel French Publishing Company, Bedroom Farce will run from November 5 through November 25 on Friday and Saturday evenings with two selected Sunday matinees.

Laurel Man Robbed at Gunpoint

Police were called to a 62-year-old man’s home off Mississippi Road at 10am.

The victim heard someone coming from behind him as he was working in his garage.  When he turned around, the suspect held him at gunpoint.

The suspect demanding money and possessions belonging to the victim then took off in a tan sedan parked nearby.

Prince George's County Track Club Wins Big at AAU Jr. Olympics

Track Express Track Club (TETC), Prince George County's finest track club has been competing in the AAU Jr. Olympics track meets for over 15 years, breaking records and winning a number of gold medals year after year.

This year, it is no different in Norfolk, VA, with member, Rashad Manning breaking the record in the Javelin Throw for the youth boys. He also won the gold in the Discus and silver in the Shot put.
